We are Green!

  • 100% of our spent coffee grinds (more than 100,000 lbs per day) are de-watered and recycled through biomass energy. The spent coffee grinds are pure cellulose fiber, and as a fuel the grinds are burned at a nearby wood burning co-generation facility and converted into electricity.

  • 80% of the thermal energy in our water is recycled through heat exchangers for use in the production of the next batch of coffee extracts. The waste water is used in a wet scrubber to reduce emissions from the facility’s coffee roasters.

  • Central Maine Power awarded our company a grant in 2006 for our use of energy-efficient motors and VFD motor controls.
